  The Lights Went Out

By: Jane Montgomery

It was a warm summer day my family was at pasquales restraint and it started to rain a light rain and the rain got harder and harder and the power went out and they tried fixing it and it went on but a few minutes later it went out again they tried again it went on then it went out a few minutes later again they tried again but it stayed out and we were just getting ready or they to go. When we got home the lights wouldn’t turn on. We were going crazy! It turned into a pigsty of disappointment.  Dad got out candles and lit them. Mom got down the flash lights and lantern from the cabinet.  It was dark and cold. Without heat. I was so cold I got a blanket. And I was only a little warmer. I wouldn’t go to the bathroom without a flashlight or the lantern which is ridicules. I was scared with out light so I didn’t want to go sleep that night. In the morning I tried to turn on a light but the light wouldn’t turn on then I remembered about last night.
